On Monday, January 4th, 2016 at 1020am P.O. G. Kimbro #368 and P.O. Jeffrey Lamboy #384 were conducting plain clothes patrol operations. They entered the northbound Mobile gas station (located in the Englewood Cliffs NJ Section) when they observed a gray colored VW Jetta parked with equipment violations and was occupied by four (4) white males. The officers approached the vehicle and could smell an odor of marijuana emanating from the windows. The occupants were asked to exit the vehicle and additional unit was dispatched to assist. During the investigation, a search of the occupants was conducted. The Driver, Mr. Demetrios Andriopoulos, 20 year old male from Little Neck NY, was found to be in possession of an altered NY driver’s license which also contained another person’s legitimate information. One passenger, Mr. Steven Devito, an 18 year old male from Staten Island NY, was found to be in possession of a false NJ driver’s license and an identification card which belonged to another legitimate person. A second passenger, Mr. Mark Matinale, a 20 year old male from Douglaston NY was found to be in possession of an altered NY Driver’s License. The fourth passenger, Mr. Daniel Colflesh, a 20 year old male from Little Neck NY did not have contraband at this time.
The occupants were placed into custody and a search of the vehicle was subsequently conducted. During the search, 1 silicone container and 1 small folder each containing wax paper with suspected marijuana resin located on the back seat ,1 eleaf istick wulf vaporizer containing suspected marijuana resin residue located on the back seat, 1 plastic bong style pipe with burnt suspected marijuana residue located in the trunk. All of which were the property of Mr. Andriopoulos.
Officers discovered 1 medium vacuum sealed bag containing suspected marijuana located in a black sneaker in a trunk, 1 pack of 10 baccarat cigarillos located in the trunk which was owned by Mr. Devito. In addition, 1 metal grinder with suspected marijuana located in the glove compartment, 1 pack of raw rolling papers and a false Connecticut driver license located in Mr. Colflesh’s wallet on the front passenger seat. Mr. Colflesh was then placed into custody and joined the other three occupants.
Also during the search, officers uncovered 1 Powerline air powered handgun with ammo and 1 Remington Black Magic air powered rifle both located in the trunk belonging to all 4 subjects who agreed they were sharing them.
