At approximately 0110hrs on Saturday, August 1st 2015 P.O. Joseph Villone #378 was conducting a routine check of the Alpine Lookout when he discovered an unoccupied, improperly parked 2013 Dodge Dart. P.O. Villone approached the vehicle and upon looking inside he was able to see two (2) syringes and wax paper envelopes with suspected Heroin residue. P.O. Villone requested P.O. Martin Clancy #390 to assist him in searching the area for the occupants. Upon P.O. Clancy’s arrival, two (2) individuals approached the vehicle.
P.O. Villone asked the two subjects if they were the occupants of the vehicle and they affirmed that they were. P.O. Villone Mirandized both of the subjects and asked them about the narcotics in the vehicle. Both subjects claimed ownership and were then placed under arrest. During a search incident to their arrest, a search of their person was conducted. The operator, identified as Ms. Sara Jonus a 24 year old white female from Closter NJ, was found to be in possession of 48 decks of Heroin. Ms. Jonus provided consent to search her vehicle and in addition to the plain view items, P.O. Villone also discovered 5 additional decks of Heroin and a collapsable police baton.
The passenger, identified as Mr. Jesse Kurzweill, a 28 year old white male also from Closter, claimed ownership of the police baton. Both subjects were transported to police headquarters where they were process and released on bail.
Charges are as follows:
Ms. Sara Jonus, Possession of Heroin, Possession w/Intent to Distribute Heroin, Possession of hypodermic syringes with a total bail of $21,000.
Mr. Jesse Kurzweil, Possesion of Heroin, Possession of hypodermic syringes, possssion of a weapon with a total bail of $13,500.
Both have been lodged in the Bergen County Jail.
