On June 27th, 2016 at approximately 0345hrs P.O. Travis Philhower #397 was conducting RADAR enforcement southbound on the Palisades Interstate Parkway at interchange 2 in the Alpine NJ Section.  During this time, a silver Honda Civic passed at a high rate of speed (100mph).  P.O. Philhower entered the highway and began to close the gap with the Honda.  As P.O. Philhower reached interchange 1 in the Englewood Cliffs NJ Section, he witnessed the vehicle begin to exit onto Palisade Ave.

Philhower pursued the vehicle through Englewood until it made a right onto Tenafly Rd and then a left onto Liberty Rd.  As it turned onto Liberty Rd, the vehicle struck a pile of residential garbage out for collection and then into a parked car.  After striking the parked car, the vehicle then crossed a sidewalk on the north side of Liberty Rd and into the porch of a home.

P.O. Philhower approached the vehicle and apprehended the subject without incident.  The operator, identified as Mr. Junior Jimenez-Mariano was transported to the NJ Headquarters for processing.  He registered a Blood Alcohol Content reading of %0.028 3 hours after his arrest.  He was charged with several motor vehicle violations as well as DWI and criminally charged with: 2C:29-1A Obstruction of Governmental Function (Disorderly Persons), 2C:29-3b(2) Hindering Apprehension (Disorderly Persons) and 2C:29-2B Eluding (2nd degree).  He has a bail of $40,000.00 with NO 10% option.
