
HISTORIC PARK SUICIDE
On Monday September 15th, 2014 at 1459hrs the Palisades Interstate Parkway Police Department responded to Historic Park (Located in the Fort Lee NJ Section) for a reported car fire.Moments later, another call was received reporting a bicycle accident on Henry Hudson Drive between Englewood Cliffs and Edgewater. The Fort Lee Fire Department responded to Historic Park and extinguished the car fire. Simultaneously officers on Henry Hudson Drive discovered that the previously reported bicycle accident was a victim who was deceased from falling from the cliffs.
The investigation revealed that the victim found on Henry Hudson Drive was the owner of the burned vehicle and had jumped from the northern ledge of Historic Park. The victim was later identified as Mr. Cross Yoler, a 34 year old male from Garfield NJ. Mr. Yoler discarded a large amount of personal belongings along the side of the cliff prior to jumping had taken his dog, a Yorkshire Terrier, with him. The investigation has concluded that this event was a suicidal event and no other persons were involved.
