On Sunday, May 11th 2014 at 1322hrs, the Palisades Interstate Parkway Police Department responded for a reported injured hiker along the cliffs in the area of the State Line Lookout. A boat from Piermont Fire Department was requested to assist with accessing the patient due to the remote location. Upon arrival, local firefighters from Piermont traversed up the cliff to the patient in the area of the rock slide. A request for aviation was made to extract the patient due to the remote location and size of the victim. NYPD aviation responded and hoisted the patient to a safe location where they were treated by EMS. The patient was then transported to Nyack hospital with a leg injury.
