JUNIOR POLICE OFFICER “FRANKIE” MEDICI

On April 6, 2015 the Palisades Interstate Parkway Police Department swore in Junior Police Officer Francesca “Frankie” Medici, a 10 year old girl from Ringwood New Jersey. During Frankie’s tour she took her oath of office administered by Lt. Jesse Cohen #354. She was then issued handcuffs, a radio, and a warning book.

Her first assignment was Field Training with P.O. Dana Eustace #389. P.O. Eustace covered various duties that officers on the Palisades Interstate Parkway face with each day, both operationally and administratively. Once she was shown how to set up her patrol car for a tour, check her equipment, and get ready for patrol, Officer Medici conducted mock motor vehicle stops.

During the stops, she was shown some of the dangers that police officers face on a daily basis just on simple tasks as stopping someone for speeding. Later, Dlt. Roman Galloza #345 and Det. Jeffrey Kimbro #371 showed Officer Medici how to interview and fingerprint defendants as well as process simulated evidence.

All in all Officer Medici fueled her dream of being a police officer and now has plenty of stories to share with her friends and maybe, giving them a new dream as well.
